Questions before registering? Check here first!
We want you to be happy, and we know you have questions. We are always happy to take your questions via phone or email. We've put a few frequently asked questions here that may help you both with our programs and with our website!

Q
Do you have to pay for classes at the time you register?
A
No, but if you pay 14 days prior to class starting, you do receive an early payment discount! Also, to receive our multi-class registration discount, you must pay in full for all classes prior to the start of the first class you have selected. Of course, our refund policy applies to ALL classes at Studio E. Again, we are dedicated to making you happy and want to make sure you not only come back to take more classes, but have the sort of experience that you will feel confident referring your friends! It's just good business!

Q
What if I don't want to give my credit card over the Internet?
A
That's fine, simply continue through the ordering process until it asks you for a credit card number, then simply choose "in person on first day of class," "in person prior to class"or "via phone" as a payment option and we will receive your registration electronically. You can then give us your credit card number over the phone, write us a check, or bring your payment any time prior to the first day of class.

Q
Do I have register for class prior to attending?
A
Yes. You can register via email and, as soon as we work out the kinks, even pay here on our website. You can register via email, via phone, or in person. Some classes have a pre-registration requirement. This requirement is determined by regulations mandated by the Texas Education Code. For some of our classes, we MAY NOT register students within 14 days of the first class date. For other classes, we can accept registrants at any time (until the class is full). Please read the course descriptions very carefully! They contain important information about pre-registration requirements! However, if you send us an email expressing interest in a class and there is a pre-registration requirement, we will send you a reminder email about the upcoming deadline.

Q
Will I get to meet and interact with my child's teachers?
A
Absolutely! In addition to meeting your child's teacher on the first day of class, Studio E has a weekly Parent's Roundtable on Tuesday mornings where all parents of all students are invited to meet with the teachers, ask questions, learn more about their child's progress, and go through our library of resources for parents. The more you know, the more your child's education becomes a joint effort! Plus, we care about your input and want you to feel confident about our classes and instructors.

Q
Does Studio E have recitals or performances?
A
Some of our classes are geared towards a final performance. Others create a final product, or have a showcase in class for parents. Throughout the year, Studio E has performances for family, friends and invited guests, but these performances are optional. They often require extra rehearsals or resources. Whether or not a student wants to participate is determined by the student and the parents.

Q
Do all classes have to be paid for in advance?
A
Each individual class must be paid for on the first day of class. However, you can register in advance for classes but choose not to pay until the actual class date. If you pay a 10% deposit to hold your place in class, we will refund that deposit should you choose to withdraw. Paying a deposit does insure your place in class, and several of our classes have limited spaces and may fill up quickly. The big exceptions to this are the Summer Programs and the London Theatre Trip. The Summer programs must be paid in full four weeks prior to the start date. The London Trip, because of the number of overseas arrangements to be made, must be paid in full ten weeks prior to the trip itself.

Q
Do I have to audition to take classes?
A
We are less interested in how much you know coming in to our programs: it's all about what you know when you come out! Obviously there are certain skills that will be helpful for some of our classes: going into the Scene Study class with no prior experience may be extremely challenging for a beginner, for example. And if you've been told by family members to lip-sync even in church, you might not enjoy taking Song Class. But even veteran performers can enjoy taking the Welcome to Make Believe/Acting Grab Bag course, or taking Song Class more than once, because the class participants themselves make it new every session! Plus, many of our classes are avocational classes which highlight the fun of performance as opposed to the "profession."
